Editor’s Picks

These are some of the works I keep coming back to.

I chose them because they have a particular strength. Some are beautiful because of their precision. Others because they feel strange, mysterious or unexpectedly modern. Together, they show what I love most about historical scientific images: they were made to understand the universe, yet many of them became beautiful almost by accident.

From black holes and lunar maps to eclipses, star charts and imagined journeys through space, each print reflects a different way of seeing.
